Cooking Teams
You need to have a cooking team at the Aggieland Egg and Brew Fest! Come and join other Eggheads, share recipes, great company, and delicious food! From experienced Eggheads to newbies, you are all welcome to come show off your talents! This event is truly about sharing ideas, tips, recipes, and BBQ’ing on the Big Green Egg. Typically, 50% of the cooking teams have never cooked on a Big Green Egg, so you will not be alone if you haven’t! Register your cooking team below.
Team Sizes: Please keep team sizes to four members or less if possible. First 12 registered teams will be accepted! Each member of the cooking team will receive admittance into the event at no charge (up to four members).
Cooking Amount: You should plan on cooking at least twice during the event and provide a minimum of 200 tastings/sample sizes (not full meals). Having items fit on a toothpick or in a small cup is perfect.
What to Cook: This is completely up to you and your team! A breakfast-ish type item would be great first thing in the morning. Beyond that, meatballs, chicken, shrimp, stew, mac and cheese, pineapple, cake bites, smores, etc. are all welcome items!
What is Provided: You will have a brand new Big Green Egg for you assembled on a nest and include a conveggtor (indirect plate), BGE charcoal, and fire starters. We will also have toothpicks, sample cups, and napkins. We will have XL, Large, and MiniMax Eggs for you to select from. Sizes will be reserved first come, first served!
Cooking Area: We will have limited tents and a tables available for each team. We would appreciate if you have a tent and (1-2) 6′ or 8′ table you could bring. (Please denote this on team registration form.) We will be providing the event layout soon. Teams will be able to select their particular location on a first come, first served basis, so register early!
Meet and Greet: We ask that you please join us Friday evening from 7-8 pm for fun and so that we can go over details, such as health department requirements, etc.!
Registration Fee: Team registration is $50; however, you will get to choose from either a $75 gift card to Texas Grill Supply or a full refund of your registration fee when you check in at the event! Why have we implemented this registration fee? We have had several teams cancel in the past at the last second or not show up to the event, which kept other teams on our waiting list from competing and meant less teams at the event. Registration fees are non-refundable unless we can find another cooking team to fill your spot.
